Church Health Evaluation
This is a great starting point for churches to gain feedback on how they are doing overall…that 30,000 foot view on all parts of the organization and ministry. This evaluation includes a governance and leadership review, congregational and staff polling, key ministries assessment, core documents and policy & procedure examination, financial and metric analysis, SWOT assessment (strengths /weaknesses /opportunities /threats), a “secret shopper”, social media review, and more.
Your leadership will be provided a report of all the findings and recommendations for implementation.
Mentoring and Coaching
Every leader has blind spots or gets stuck at some point in their ministry and needs a safe place to get help, perspective, and guidance. It might be time for some mentoring or coaching to help you and your leadership advance to the next level. A mentor is a seasoned leader who, through reflective interaction, can share wisdom and counsel for both personal and professional growth. A coach helps a leader take responsibility for a specific change to maximize their leadership potential. As a mentor or coach, our role with you will be to listen, help you reflect, offer objective feedback and guidance as we support you as a friend in a confidential manner. There will be times when we’ll be painfully honest with you, push or stretch you, but always supporting and believing in you.
Strategic Envisioning
Most churches have some form of mission statement, but it usually sits on a hard drive somewhere. Or, perhaps the church has a mission statement that is lived out, but there is no vision for the future — that is, you have direction for your church, but don’t have a firm idea of what it should look like in the future. Even with a vision and mission, a church needs to have a clear sense about the major pathways or critical steps that will move them in that direction. Still fewer churches have established their core values - those things that they want to live by, hire by, and develop leaders into. Lastly, very few churches set strategic goals based on all the above. Let us help you systematically create and implement each of these strategic pieces for your church — mission, vision, pathways, core values, and strategic goals. We will then coach your team for 1 year to implement these important pieces.
Organizational Governance
A church needs a proper governance structure to be healthy and advance the work of God’s Kingdom. A healthy, high-functioning board or leadership team provides good support, encouragement, and protection balanced with the appropriate accountability. Elder or board development includes reviewing or rewriting the bylaws and setting up a governance system that’s developed collaboratively and applied to each unique context. This system brings clarity on roles, authority, and responsibilities of the board and church leadership. The result leads to having meaningful, productive, healthy, and energizing board meetings. We are able to help you work through any confusion, dysfunction, dissatisfaction, or ineffectiveness you might be experiencing with your current board.
Staff Culture Development
How much greater would your impact be if everyone on your team was bought into your mission? How much more fun would your team have if you trusted one another? How much money would you save if employees stayed for the long haul? How do you go about defining values and gaining buy-in from the staff and the church? How do you hire with those values in mind and evaluate team members based on those values?
Let us partner with you to help develop a great staff (and church) culture.
